Flowers - An Inspiration (Pt. 1)

So, I know I said I'd post items every other day and more often if possible - well that idea is clearly not going well!  So sorry about that. #HangingHeadInShame

For my latest blog I will be looking at flowers.  Throughout my time making art from GCSE right up to my degree and even beyond,  I have always been interested in flowers (to the annoyance of my male art lecturers).  I can't help it, though.  There is just something about flowers - the shapes and the colours - that I am just attracted to.  Anyway, because I have collected so many images of flowers (including my own photos) I have had to divide "Flowers - An Inspiration" into two parts.

Flowers - An inspiration Part 1 includes images which I took while I was in my second year of my degree.  The quality of the photos ain't all that, however, I hope you can appreciate the images themselves for what they are... FLOWERS =). Enjoy!

The Female Nude - An Inspiration

So for my next inspiration, I  have gone with The Female Nude because there is nothing better than the female form.  The two featured artists are very different, with their own unique style for drawing the female form.  I am slightly bias towards a more traditional style of drawing, so I prefer the pieces by the second artists.  However this should not suggest I do not like the first.

So the two artists that we will be looking at are: Cecily Brown and Charles Coffman.

Why don't  you tell me what you think about the pieces or the differences in the artist and their art style.  Is there an artists which you prefer or is there an artists that I have not mentioned that you think would be good for my Art Inspirations?

Please add comments or send me a message.  Please also "LIKE" my page on FACEBOOK (linked) ... Thank you xxx

Drawing - An Inspiration

When you think about 'drawing' you'll probably think about a HB pencil on white paper... But what I've learnt throughout my long life of Art, is that drawing can be absolutely anything. Many of the drawings that I will add below take on the forms of pencil on paper, pulled string, bits of sticky tape on the floor... even sewing machine stitches on fabric!

Personally I love the fact that drawing doesn't have to be conventional it can be so diverse and creative.

I'm not sure who many of these drawings were produced by, so I will be labelling them 1, 2, 3, etc.  If I do know the name of the artist I will put the name of the artists next to the number...

So let's take a look at some of these unusual ways to make drawings.  Why not send me a message here, Facebook or Twitter to let me know which drawing you like the best and why? - SB
