Recently I have been asking myself this question, as I try to find my feet again in the world of Fine Art and Design. For a long time now, I believe I have neglected my own personal art and my interest in the subject. For the purpose of teaching I may - every now and again - I'll go to a gallery exhibition or read up on some artists and their work. But in all honesty I don't feel that is quite enough, considering I am an artist, who does love art and producing work.
I recently got asked the question: Who is you're favourite artist? At this point I instantly panicked - I don't even know why, considering the fact that I do have several favourite artist whom I could have named. However, I did panicked and I said the first artist that popped into my head... Cy Twombly. Now, don't get me wrong - I do like Cy Twombly's work, - from the instance I was introduced to his work during my first year at university I liked it, - but I wouldn't say he's my favourite or even one of my favourite artists.
Now, to answer the question - because it has been nagging me - I have complied a list (a short list) of Artist whom I consider to be my favourites. I am going to show their work in forthcoming posts (in no particular order), and if I have time, I may even discuss their work and tell you why I like them so much (mainly it's their use of colour) ....enjoy!
